istorijos pabaiga statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Tezė, kad Šaltojo karo pabaiga ir komunistinės sistemos žlugimas reiškia ne tik galutinę liberalizmo ideologijos pergalę, bet ir tai, kad žmonija galutinai pasirinko savo idealus, tad žmonijos istorija šiuo požiūriu jau pasibaigė. Idėją, siekdamas apibūdinti tarptautinių santykių pokyčius po Šaltojo karo, 1990 paskelbė amerikiečių analitikas F. Fukuyama. Jis rėmėsi vokiečių filosofo G. Hegelio suformuluota idėja, kad žmonijos istorija vystosi kaip dialektinė priešybių vienybės ir kovos triada, kad nuo tezės per antitezę judama į sintezę. Sintezė yra istorijos pabaiga, kuomet priešybės susivienija. Pasak Fukuyamos, liberalizmas įveikė savo antitezę – komunizmą ir dabar įsigali visame pasaulyje kaip viso proceso sintezė. Tai yra istorijos pabaiga. Koncepcija buvo griežtai kritikuojama. Vienas iš pagrindinių kritikų argumentų buvo toks, kad iš tikrųjų ideologinės vienybės nėra, o liberalizmo ir komunizmo priešpriešą pakeis civilizaciniai skirtumai ir dėl jų kylantys konfliktai. atitikmenys: angl. end of history
